PICTURE A FUTURE
Everyone is currently (maintaining a posture) at a juncture which is subject to change; a change is a constant phenomenon observable in every sphere of life. No one is maintaining the same ‘stature’ of ten years ago – one is not like this ten years ago, one has been changing from the day they’ve given birth to one… . For this and a volume of reasons, it is imperative to envisage a structure and posture that would be maintained in one’s future because one cannot feature in the future one has not pictured. It is germane to maintain a posture that will make this terrestrial abode habitable. Even in the literal sense, one cannot be maintaining a laying posture and find it convenient to drive a motor car; a sitting posture will make that comfortable.
In addition, laws such as Newton’s first law of motion (also known as the law of inertia) states that an object will remain at a state of rest unless acted upon by an external force, the law of cause and effect and a host of others in the scientific explanation of the cosmic order explains and buttresses the occurrence and the subject of change as a normal phenomenon.
The onus is placed on everyone to picture the future; it is a personal responsibility. To picture one’s future will require a proper mental view of things that are obtainable beyond the present. One should take time to see beyond today as one is willing to learn from the past.
Picturing one’s future is not primarily done with the eyes but with the mind; that is why it is possible to close one’s eyes and still view things. A good sight of the future is one done with an educated or well informed mind. So, there is a need to educate one’s mind in order to rightly view the future.
Therefore, one should not wait for the future to dictate one’s experience(s); a conscious effort should be made to have a mental picture of one’s future. Either one picture a future or not, one will feature in a future but it is better to do the needful for one not to experience a ‘fracture’. One should not live like a vulture but live up to the stature that corresponds to one’s ranking as humans.
