President’s daughter is said to be working on a four-hour shift, at a seafood restaurant. She works at the cash register, busing tables and prepping the restaurant before it opens for lunch. Buhari commissions $1.457bn Abuja-Kaduna rail By Favour Nnabug

President Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned the $1.457 billion Abuja- Kaduna rail services.The President at the commissioning at Idu Station in Abuja on Tuesday said that the federal government would link all states and commercial centres in the country with rail lines.The president later took a train ride from Idu to Kubwa, a suburb of Abuja.Nigeria’s first high speed rails system which connects federal capital city Abuja and northern commercial capital Kaduna begin commercial operations as President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurates operation on July 27. The 186.5 km standard gauge track built by the China Railway Construction Corporation has double lines. The Abuja-Kaduna route has nine stations and the train can travel at upto 150km per hour

The screening of Ambassadorial nomineesbegan today on a dramatic note as two of the nominee envoys couldn't recite the National anthem and pledge properly.When the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, asked the nominee from Anambra State Vivian Nwunaku Okeke to recite the national anthem, she mixed it up.Also, when she asked Ibrahim Isa, the nominee from Niger state to recite the National Pledge , he mixed it up too.A member of the committee, Senator James Manager (PDP, Delta South) corrected the nominees.The screening of the 47 career foreign service officers submitted for consideration as Ambassadors by President Muhammadu Buhari is still ongoing.

Senator Iyiola Omisore, the former Deputy Governor of Osun State may have settled for plea bargain in the money laundering case he has with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Pm News is reporting.The politician-businessman who lost the 2014 election to be governor of his state has agreed to refund the N1.310 billion given him by Colonel Sambo Dasuki, from the huge fund meant for the purchase of arms and the security of the nation.It was part of the deal to procure a bail outof EFCC cell. He was arrested 10 July.As a show of fidelity to the deal, he has refunded N100million to the EFCC, being the balance met in one of the accounts linked with the stolen fund.47
